1The problem

If you sell batteries, packaging, or electronics into more than one EU country, you owe filings to the national producer-responsibility body of every country you sell into. Every quarter. Every category. Every SKU.

Getting it wrong is expensive. Under §5 Elektro- und Elektronikgerätegesetz alone, a missed WEEE registration in Germany carries fines of up to €100,000 per violation. Multiply that by 12 countries and 3 categories and it becomes structural risk.

You now have three choices: hire in-house counsel, retain a €600-1500/month compliance firm per country, or route it through Cerivio.

2How Cerivio files it

You opt in per country + category via POST /api/v1/epr/registrations. We generate a national registration id and file the registration with the local body (Stiftung EAR / Citeo / CONAI / Ecoembes / BDO / etc).
Every settled order accrues an obligation entry — units, weight, category — into your monthly (or quarterly, depending on jurisdiction) filing pool.
Cerivio's cron aggregates on the filing deadline, produces the envelope, submits it to the national body, and returns the receipt reference to your account.
You get one invoice per country per period: retainer + per-unit fees. No paperwork, no portal logins, no translations.

5Battery Passport · Regulation 2023/1542

From February 2027, every industrial battery over 2 kWh, every EV traction battery, and every LMT (e-bike, e-scooter) battery placed on the EU market must carry a digital passport meeting Annex XIII of Reg 2023/1542.

The passport must be accessible via QR code and contain ~100 mandatory fields across five sections:

Identification — manufacturer, model, serial, chemistry, mass, GLN
Performance & durability — rated capacity, expected lifetime cycles, State-of-Health (updated over life)
Composition — cell chemistry, hazardous substances, recycled content %
Carbon footprint — kg CO₂e per kWh, cradle-to-grave
Supply-chain due diligence — cobalt / lithium / natural graphite / nickel policy

Cerivio's Battery Passport service builds on top of the Digital Product Passport infrastructure already in v0.17 (Merkle-chained + signed with Cerivio's JWK). One POST /api/v1/battery-passport per battery mints the passport, generates the QR-code URL, and books the revenue.
